Toddlers are the stormtroopers of the Lord of Entropy.

Hehe, I just loved this quote, so I thought I'd post it permanently here (since they get changed every day). This one describes Olaia perfectly.

We had a wonderful weekend. We hung out with Roberto, Miray, their kids Robertito and Mariam, as well as Laura's sister, Nellie and her mother and father. We sailed to a small island called Palomino and snorkeled and swam to the beach and just relaxed. Olaia had so much fun. It was her first time on a sail boat, so she was a little apprehensive at first, but by the time we came back she was a little sailor girl, sea legs and all.

After the boat everybody went rosey-cheeked to a Japanese restaurant at the hotel. The service was extremely slow. We we didn't eat until and hour and half later, but the company was good so we just laughed and carried on like college kids. We downed a lot of sake too. In addition, the restaurant was out of sushi, red snapper, and all the food arrived cold. We had so much fun though, so it didn't matter. It was one of those moments that the worse it got the better time we had.

Chillin' on da beach

Business update: We've been meeting with our two salespeople that we've employed, Mario and Julio. They look to be very helpful getting our products out there. We really like the two of them and their attitudes. It's also nice to delegate finally. We are still fussing around with the government development bank, but at least a local bank extended us a line of credit to get things going... so that means we are finally earning salaries and paying salaries. Finally!!

Update on the Government Development Bank of Puerto Rico: They approved the guarantee of the guarantee so it looks like all the money will be coming in. Whoo hoo!!

We bought seven really nice laptop computers for demos and for work. They have DVD drives, active screens and 64 meg of ram. For the price of $1100 each, that's pretty good.

We're hoping to get away this weekend and just relax before we really start the blitz this coming week. I'm looking forward to taking Olaia to the hotel pool and getting some bike riding in around El Yunque.

Laura and I have been married for 6 years... geez how time flies, we still feel like newlyweds... only one problem, neither of us can remember if it's the 3rd or the 4th of September.

Olaia with here cousins Robertito and Mariam and the neighbor Maria Alejandra

It's early in the morning, and I just thought I'd write this down before I forgot it. Olaia and her cousins and I played paper airplanes.

I built them some paper airplanes and gave them each one and had them run around the room. Olaia held her's above her head and ran around and around and around and around until I thought I'd be dizzy. She and Robertito just kept going.

"Hey, I think those planes are running low on gas, " I said. "Let's get them refueled." I made a landing noise and picked a place where they were going to refuel. We chose Olaia's caterpillar with springy balls on springs that stick out of his back. Those were going to be the refueling pumps.

We parked the planes and out rolled the refueling station. Bah dum bah dum bah dum bah dum bah dum dadumbum bah dum dum dum. Poka poka poka poka and the jets were refueled and ready to ride around the room again. And around and around and around the room they went. Wow!! I wonder what type of engines they had.

Mami Teaching the Finer Points of Bubble Blowing

Wow, that "hurricane" really dragged some humidity in here. It's cool, but it's probably about 100% humidity. Whew.

Laura and I are planning the office space that we found last week. It's looking good for us to be in there sometime in September and start finishing the space soon afterward. It's an old warehouse. As a matter of fact, Laura's father just told us that when he was a young engineer for Lord Electric, that's where he went to buy electrical supplies. Now, thirty years later, his daughter and husband are moving in there to start a Internet company.

Olaia played with her cousins Robertito and Mariam today. We made shadow puppets in her room. They all grabbed toys from the toy box and put them up in front of the light. How cute. Now they are blowing bubbles. Olaia loves to blow bubbles.
