Here is a photo of Laura that we did for a convention. Very nice, huh? Went to the garage where there was some great ambient sunlight. Then I chopped out the background, color corrected Laura, smoothed out her skin tones, and put in a background. In the end it looks like a studio photo if you ask me.
We're almost in our office. We are finishing up some minor details and we should be moving in next week. Laura's been great. She managed the electricians, the plumbers, the air conditioning people, the network people, the carpet people, the furniture people, the carpenters, the door people, the painters, and the telephone people. Of course the worst part about it all is managing me *G*. I'm probably the biggest pain the ass. She's been just great though and as soon as we get it all finished I'll post pictures.
Tuesday, 17th o October 2000
Olaia for some reason putting a bathing suit on her head made her a frog.
Olaia did the funniest thing today. She pulled a bathing suit over her head and placed a diaper on top of that, squated down and proceeded to croak like a frog and hop around. It was the funniest thing... don't ask me where she got the idea, but I about fell out of my computer chair laughing. I have pictures to prove her silliness. What a cutie, eh?
We finished up with the three days of the convention last week. Weren't very many people in general, but our booth had a lot of activity. We had a video game running on linux there that people seemed to like. It's called Tuxracer and is a penguin that races down an icey slope eating fish. It's pretty fun and a lot of people tried their hand at it. We were giving out baseball caps to the high scorers. Although, my high score still rules.

For the next three days we're going to be having a booth at a local convention called the E-commerce and Internet Expo. Not much to report. I'm very tired and need some sleep, but at least we have a little picture of us setting up this evening.
Monday, 2nd o October 2000
We ended up not taking the office space in the warehouse. As it turns out, a friend of one of the venture capitalists owns a computer store and has office space. It seemed like a good idea to be in the circle of known types with our startup. Now we have one more tie to the community at large. Besides, the office space was more finished and cheaper in the long run. We were going to have to spend a lot of money to make the other one liveable and probably not be in it until the new year. This way we'll be in our new office by middle of Oct. By the way, we bought office furniture. Feels good.
