I just got back from annual training. We spent 2 weeks in an desert area of Puerto Rico called Salinas. It was hot, dry, and dusty. You wouldn't expect a full fledged desert on a tropical island, but there it was. I found it to be very beautiful and interesting, something about the rugged southern California style landscape gave it an otherworldly feel.
When I went, I wasn't expecting much of the experience, but it turned out to be a great time. I got to know some of my fellow officers a bit better and we ended up being a tight group. Whenever one of us is around, people always ask where the other 3 amigos are. Hehe. We've taken to attempting to arrive at meetings in seperate vehicles and at different times so at least people won't think that 4 officers do the work of about one and a half. That's our little joke.
